Effective date: 18 September 2026
The short version
Cancel whenever you like, from inside the app, in a few taps. No phone call, no email, no "tell us why", no retention offer.
You keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for. After that your household goes read-only for 30 days — everything is still there to read and to download. At the end of those 30 days access closes.
Nothing is deleted. Your data stays exactly where it is, subscribing again brings all of it straight back, and you can download a full copy at any point — including after access has closed.
Deleting your household is a separate, deliberate act, and you can undo that for 30 days.
1. How to cancel
Settings → Subscription → Manage or cancel. That opens Stripe's billing portal, where you cancel in one more tap.
We will not make this hard. There is no cancellation flow designed to wear
you down, no offer you have to decline three times, and nothing you have to
phone about. If you cannot find the button or the portal will not load,
email craftdreamsco@gmail.com and we will cancel it for you — that counts as
notice from the moment your email arrives.
2. When it takes effect
Cancelling stops the next payment. It does not cut off the period you have already paid for.
| You are on | You cancel | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly | Any time | Full access to the end of the current month; no further charges |
| Annual | Any time | Full access to the end of the 12-month term; no further charges |
| Free trial | Any time | Nothing to cancel — no card was taken. Just stop using it. |
A trial that simply runs out is treated exactly the same way as a cancellation: 30 days read-only, then access closes, and nothing is ever deleted.
Fees already paid are not refunded (see the Refund Policy, including the exceptions in its section 3).
3. What happens to your data — this is the part people worry about
Nothing is deleted when you cancel, and nothing is deleted when access closes.
There are two stages, and it is worth being precise about both.
Stage one — 30 days read-only
When the period you paid for ends, your household becomes read-only:
- You can still sign in.
- You can still see everything — calendar, budget, meals, tasks, history.
- You can still export tasks, chores, budgets and routines to CSV, and download a complete copy of the household.
- You cannot add or change anything until you subscribe again.
The app tells you how many days are left, on every screen, for the whole 30 days. You will not find out about the deadline by hitting it.
Stage two — access closes
30 days after that, access closes: signing in no longer opens the app.
What does not happen: nothing is deleted, nothing is scheduled to be deleted, and nothing is anonymised, sold or reused. Your calendar, budget, meals, routines and history sit exactly as you left them.
What you can still do, with access closed:
- Subscribe, and everything reopens immediately, exactly as it was. There is no re-import and no setup to redo.
- Download a complete copy of your household, at any time. That route stays open permanently. Your right to your own information does not expire with a subscription, and we are not going to hold your data hostage to a payment.
Why it is built this way
30 days of read-only is deliberate, and it is longer than it needs to be for our convenience. The households this is built for are the ones most likely to have a month where money is short, and locking someone out the moment a payment stops — or worse, deleting a year of their family's records — would be a cruel way to run a product aimed at people already carrying more than they can hold.
Equally, access to a paid tool ending when you stop paying for it is not a punishment; it is what a subscription is. The 30 days, the countdown, the permanent export and the promise that nothing is destroyed are how we think that ought to be done.
4. Deleting your household
Deleting is separate from cancelling, and you have to ask for it specifically: Settings → Delete household, confirmed with your password and by typing a confirmation phrase.
When you do:
- The household becomes inaccessible immediately.
- We email you a restore link.
- For 30 days you can restore it in full using that link.
- After 30 days it is permanently erased — every table, cascading, with no copy kept by us.
- Encrypted backups made before deletion age out within a further 30 days.
The 30-day window exists because deleting everything is exactly the sort of decision that gets made in a bad week. If you delete and regret it the next morning, you are fine.
Please export anything you want to keep before you delete. After the 30 days we genuinely cannot get it back — not for you, not for anyone.
5. If we cancel
We may end your subscription if you break the Terms of Service, if the law requires it, or if we stop offering Life Hub.
- If we stop offering Life Hub, you get at least 60 days' notice, a way to export everything, and a refund of the unused portion of any prepaid period.
- If we close a household for a breach of the Terms, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put it right and to export your data, unless the law or a safety risk prevents us.
6. Your statutory rights
This policy is in addition to your rights under Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002 — or your own province's equivalent — not instead of them. Where they conflict, the law wins.
[REVIEW NOTE: see the note in the Refund Policy on ss.22–26 CPA 2002 (future performance agreements) and their statutory cancellation rights. Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2023 is not in force as at 17 September 2026.]
